Mark Harmon plans Hollywood comeback as he misses acting

American actor returns to small screen as a guest-star on ‘NCIS’
Mark Harmon has recently planned a Hollywood comeback following his NCIS comeback as a guest-star spot. A source spills to Radar Online that the actor, who retired from the show four years ago and returned as Leroy role in NCIS: Origins, made him realize how much he “misses” being in front of the camera. “He had such a wonderful time being back on set, and now he’s saying he wants to do more acting,” explains an insider. The source close to the actor notes that his wife Pam Dawber is also excited about his comeback.
Pam is “going nuts with him twiddling his thumbs at home” all day long, said an insider. “Mark tried to enjoy the downtime, but the truth is, he was bored out of his mind. He misses the routine, the crew, the fans, the whole buzz of being on set,” pointed out a source. Another insider added that Pam will “no doubt be happy to hear that the NCIS team is trying to lure him to come back on a more full-time basis”. “He wants to stretch himself, so he’s even started looking at projects outside the NCIS universe – he’s more interested in doing movies,” mentioned a source. Meanwhile, Mark was last seen in Freakier Friday with Jamie Lee Curtis last year and now he’s open to more big-screen roles. “He’s open to the right project to help keep him busy and inspired,” shared an insider. The source added, “He’s turning 75 next year, but the truth is he’s just not ready to retire, he probably never will be.”
